Chaser Bins

Keep grain moving efficiently during harvest with a Trufab Chaser Bin

The Trufab 49,000L Chaser Bin is designed and manufactured in Western Australia to keep grain moving efficiently during harvest.

With a 49,000L capacity – approximately 38 tonnes depending on grain type and bulk density – an 18″ PTO-driven discharge auger, hydraulic floor auger and heavy-duty tandem running gear, the Trufab Chaser Bin provides the capacity, flotation and unloading performance required for large-scale Australian cropping operations.

Backed by more than 40 years of agricultural manufacturing experience, it has been designed around practical operation, durability and efficient grain transfer in demanding harvest conditions.

High-Capacity Grain Handling Built for Harvest

During harvest, every unnecessary stop costs time. A chaser bin allows grain to be transferred from the harvester while working in the paddock, then carried to a truck, mother bin or other transfer point for unloading.

This helps keep the harvester operating, reduces unnecessary waiting and provides greater flexibility between harvesting and road transport.

The Trufab 49,000L Chaser Bin combines high carrying capacity with heavy-duty running gear, flotation tyres and efficient unloading to help maintain a steady flow of grain throughout harvest.

Trufab 49,000L Chaser Bin

The Trufab 49,000L Chaser Bin provides approximately 38 tonnes of grain capacity, depending on grain type and bulk density, giving growers substantial on-field carrying capacity between the harvester and unloading point.

It is fitted with an 18″ discharge auger for efficient unloading, together with a hydraulic floor auger to maintain consistent grain flow.

Heavy-duty tandem axles, suspension, braking and rear steering provide a running gear package designed for the demands of broadacre cropping operations.

Large radial flotation tyres help distribute the load across the paddock while providing the stability and mobility required during harvest.

Heavy-Duty Tandem Running Gear

A fully loaded chaser bin places significant demands on its running gear, particularly when operating across paddocks during harvest.

The Trufab 49,000L Chaser Bin features a heavy-duty tandem axle arrangement with brakes, suspension and rear steering.

Large 750/60R30.5 radial flotation tyres provide a substantial footprint to help carry the load across agricultural ground while maintaining manoeuvrability. Rear steering also assists the bin in following the tractor through turns, reducing tyre scrub and improving manoeuvrability during paddock operation.

Fast and Practical Grain Unloading

Efficient unloading is a key part of keeping grain moving during harvest.

The Trufab Chaser Bin uses an 18″ PTO-driven discharge auger, supported by a hydraulic floor auger to move grain efficiently toward the discharge system.

The discharge auger folds hydraulically for transport and incorporates an over-centre locking mechanism, providing a secure and practical setup without requiring the auger to be manually bolted into its operating position.

Single-lever clean-out doors and a floor access door provide practical access when cleaning the bin between crops or at the end of harvest.

Right-Hand or Left-Hand Discharge

The Trufab Chaser Bin is supplied with right-hand discharge as standard.

A left-hand discharge configuration is also available at no additional charge, allowing the chaser bin to be configured to suit different harvesting and unloading operations.

Speak with our team when ordering to determine which configuration best suits your equipment and harvest setup.

Visibility and Safety Features

Harvest often involves long operating hours and work around multiple pieces of machinery.

The Trufab Chaser Bin includes a camera kit, rear flashing beacon and tail lights as standard, providing improved visibility around the machine during operation and transport.

An additional screen for the camera system can also be supplied as an optional extra where required.

Optional Extras

A range of options is available to further configure the Trufab Chaser Bin for your operation, including:

  • Sample chute
  • Additional screen for the camera system
  • 800L fire fighter kit comprising two 400L tanks

What Is a Chaser Bin?

A chaser bin is a high-capacity grain cart used to collect grain from a harvester and transfer it to a truck, mother bin or other unloading point.

Rather than requiring the harvester to stop and travel to a stationary truck, the chaser bin can move through the paddock and receive grain during harvesting operations.

Once loaded, it transports the grain to the designated unloading point before returning to the harvester.

This helps separate harvesting from road transport and can significantly improve grain flow across large cropping operations.

Chaser Bin or Mother Bin – What’s the Difference?

Chaser bins and mother bins perform different but complementary roles during harvest.

A chaser bin travels through the paddock, collecting grain from the harvester and transferring it to another storage or transport point.

A mother bin generally remains in a central location and provides much larger temporary grain storage during harvest.

Used together, a chaser bin can transfer grain from the harvester to a mother bin, allowing trucks to load from a central point without needing to follow harvesting equipment throughout the paddock.

For operations requiring high-capacity temporary grain storage, Trufab Engineering also manufactures 125T and 150T Mother Bins, with an 85T model available on request.
